What Will Change After the System Conversion?

  • You will receive two statements for the first quarter 2013 account activity: (1) a complete January statement in February and (2) complete February and March statements in April.
  • As of April 2013, normal quarterly statements will resume.
  • Your account statements will have a new look, and will be easier to read and better organized beginning with your statement ending March 31st.
  • Beginning February 4, ATM daily withdrawal limits will increase from $300 to $500.
  • Nikkei Online banking will have a new look and new functionality – Easy to follow tabs make using this new system a breeze.
  • Online banking password: The first time you log in to online banking after the conversion, you will need to use the last four numbers of your Social Security number. You'll then be prompted to choose a new password.
  • Nikkei-by-Phone audio system: The first time you call in after the conversion, you will need to use the last four numbers of your Social Security number. You'll then be prompted to choose a new password.
  • Suffix numbers will change from letters to numbers. There will be a description of the account next to the new suffix number.

What Will NOT CHANGE After the System Conversion?

  • Account (member) numbers
  • Debit Cards – PINs will stay the same
  • Checks
  • Nikkei's Routing and Transit Number: 322275791
  • Pre-authorized payments and direct deposits
  • Bill Pay payees and history
  • All scheduled ACH, transfers and bill payments will not be affected, if they were scheduled prior to conversion

  • Is my personal data safe during the conversion? Yes, your personal data and account information is safe and secure, as always.
  • Are my funds still safe and secure? Yes, your funds remain secure. All Nikkei CU accounts continue to be insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $250,000.

If you have questions or concerns about the upcoming system conversion, you can stop by a branch or call our Gardena branch at (310) 324-1544, or our West L.A. branch at (310) 479-5633 anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday (Gardena branch) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Be Prepared...Your Conversion To-Do List!

  • Taking action prior to January 31st will minimize any inconvenience and interruption to your day-to-day banking experience.
  • Note the conversion dates on your calendar: January 31st after 5 p.m. through Sunday, February 3rd. Branches will be closed and many services will be unavailable. Normal services will resume at 9 a.m. on Monday, February 4th. See the Service Availability
  • Calendar included with this notification for complete details.
  • Visit a branch before the conversion dates for any special in-branch transactions, such as wires and bank drafts.
  • Schedule online bill payments in advance of the conversion. Your payments will be made as scheduled, even if the date falls during the conversion.
  • Sign up for eStatements – After the conversion, two years of historical data on Nikkei Online banking will be available to you 24/7.
  • Write down all of your Nikkei account numbers, so you can easily access them after the conversion. Use the handy reference sheet we've included in this notification.
