    No, you do not need to belong to a labor union to join Nikkei.

  • Joining Nikkei is easy. All we need is a Membership Application, a valid US government issued ID such as driver’s license or passport, and a minimum $1 deposit in the primary Savings account.

  • Select Employer Group is a business, organization, or association that has a formal relationship with a credit union so its employees (and often their immediate family members) are eligible to join the credit union.

  • Yes. As a federally-insured credit union, Nikkei’s member deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), which is the credit-union equivalent of the FDIC. Your funds are federally insured to at least $250,000 per member.

  • To add a joint owner, you and the other person will need to visit a branch or contact us at 866.4NIKKEI or 888.MABUHAY to schedule a virtual appointment.

  • Yes, you can use Card Controls on your Mobile Banking app or in Online Banking. If you suspect fraudulent charges, please contact us immediately.
